Pirates "On Stranger Tides" To Film At Pinewood Studios UK

Now that filming in Hawaii is almost completed filming will move on to the UK. Pinewood Studios has officially announced that Pirates will be moving filming to the UK. Andrew M. Smith, Group Director Corporate Affairs for The Pinewood Studios Group commented: “We are thrilled that Pirates of the Caribbean has chosen to film part of the latest instalment in this fantastic series here at Pinewood. It’s great for the UK film industry and for Pinewood Studios in particular. We look forward to welcoming the entire cast and crew.”


Walt Disney Studios’ and Jerry Bruckheimer Films’ Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides will be partially filmed at Pinewood Studios this summer, along with other UK locations. Since cameras turned in June, the production has already shot on the islands of Kauai and Oahu in Hawaii, and Los Angeles. The fourth instalment of the blockbuster series is being produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and is directed by Rob Marshall (Chicago, Nine). The latest Pirates film follows Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) and Barbossa (Geoffrey Rush) as they embark on a quest to find the Fountain of Youth, this time confronted by Blackbeard (Ian McShane) and Angelica (Penelope Cruz), a mysterious woman from Sparrow’s past. The film is scheduled for release in 2011.

Pirates is currently in is final two weeks of filming before moving to the UK.
